The most appropriate way of going to early elections in northern Kosovo municipalities, according to former Kosovo Constitutional Court Judge Kadri Kryeziu is the resignation of the current mayors.
He said the mayors of northern municipalities cannot be dismissed because there is no legal basis for such a thing.
The fastest way to solve problems that are that municipal heads resign with it is moral. The petition is a political strategy, a business deal, goes too long. If you petition, then you have to reason. These mayors have not violated the law, they are not legitimate but legal. The guidance has constitutional grounds, but the dismissal has no constitutional basis because they have done nothing illegal. The most just and quick way to resign for the sake of Kosovo”, he said.
The petition for the chairman's dismissal is not the proper method, according to Kryezius, because there is no excuse for that.
He said the mayors could complain and even win the case at the Court.
These guys have no reasoning, the demand should be done on the basis of 50 plus per cent, of the electrolytic body, should go to the municipal assembly, there should be debate there for reasons. Reason they don't, this is the unknown equation. They can complain and win the case, they can't be told “if we don't want”, there's no judicial reasoning”, he said.
