Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq, who is staying in Paris for the two-day Peace Forum, said there has been no initiative for meeting with Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, who is also staying in the French capital.
Vuciq, speaking to reporters, said “does not know what we would talk about”.
“He chose with which representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina would meet, so I wonder what hypocritical principles are these for respecting territorial integrity”, he said.
As “transmitsTanjug” Vuciq said that for all in the West it is clear that Kurti does not want to form association.
I think they all understand that Kurti does not want to form association, does not want progress in dialogue, and that everything else was Balkan tricks that worked for a day or two. For us it is important to preserve the lives of Serbs in Kosovo, to maintain peace, but I do not believe that association will ever be formed until Kurti is in power in Pristina”, Vucic said.
Asked whether there were comments about Kurt's stubbornness for failing to fulfil the agreement, Vuciq says that “even when he did, and that there was much more than he expected from”, he wouldn't say so publicly because, as he explains, “if they wanted to say it in public”
Asked whether the opposition claims that he needs elections to recognise Kosovo's independence are correct, he responds, citing Aleksandar Tijanici that “each moves within the limits of his own hypocrisy”.
I will never recognise Kosovo's independence. But I've been hearing lies for 11 years. And a lot of fake patriots gave me sermons and they never gave me a quarter of the”, said Vuciq.
He made these comments during his stay at the Paris Peace Forum.
Otherwise, Vuciq at Elysee Palace tonight will have a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron, with whom he will discuss dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina. As he said, Macro can be expected before the end of the year in Belgrade.
In late October, Kurti and Vuciq met European leaders. Kurti said he was willing to sign documents in the package, accusing Serbia of refusing to sign. European leaders after the meetings have made public the request that Kosovo begin with the establishment of association and that Serbia experience recognition defacto. Days before the meeting, representatives of the US, EU, Germany, Italy and France in Kosovo brought the draft for Association.
