Rama's full statement published by the Albanian prime minister:
Tomorrow, November 10th, I will join other world leaders in Paris to discuss ways in which the civilian population can be helped and hopefully end the Gaza conflict. As a member of the UN Security Council, but more importantly as a peaceful and peaceful multi-religious country, Albania is deeply concerned about the ongoing conflict and the prolonged Gaza suffering.
Rithexoy, Albania stands firm with Israel against Hamas. However, we are also very concerned by the disasters, civilian victims and suffering in Gaza.
In Paris, I will stress that it is essential to end this conflict before it gets out of control. I will also stress that while Israel has the undisputed right to self-defense, it must do so in line with international humanitarian law. The duration of this conflict only fuels Hamas' ambitions of chaos and a broader conflict.
A negotiated interruption of active hostility is necessary. In Paris, I'm going to ask our host, President Macro of France, his support for engaging with other leaders for the following:
In exchange for an immediate ceasefire by Israel, the Arab League and Turkey must ensure the unconditional and secure release of all hostages abducted by Hamas.
Resumption of Gaza is unacceptable. With the release of the hostages, Israel must withdraw all forces from Gaza.
After the terrible crimes committed on October 7th, there can be no political future for Hamas. Under the UN's mandate, an international force led by the Arab League could temporarily take over Gaza, facilitating needed reconstruction and the transition of government responsibilities from Hamas to the Palestinian Authority. Albania is ready to co-sponsored the UN Security Council's necessary Security Council resolution to the top.
With all fighting disrupted, the international community must commit to organising an international donor conference to finance Gaza reconstruction.
