Prosecutor Seeks Sentence of Charged

At the Constitutional Court in Pristina in the case where Nexhat Hajredini, Naim Kadriu, Agron Halimi and Arben Sheqiri are charged with impeachment, prosecutor Besa Limani has demanded that the accused be punished, while the defence has sought their release.

At Thursday's session, the parties in the procedure handed their final words in written form, elaboring them to short points, reports “The Justice Vow”.

Prosecutor Limani said that during administration and evidence the actual situation the accused committed in the case of the criminal conduct they are charged with, proposing to the court that the same judge plead guilty and condemn them under the law, taking into account harsh and extenuating circumstances.

Even the representative of the damaged party, Artan Shala, lawyer Sami Istrefi, said the fact that the accused by their actions had fulfilled the elements of the criminal act “Fajde”, proposing the court to convict the same.

Lawyer Istrefi said they present a rich-juridic request.

However, the injured Shala backed prosecutor Limani's final word and attorney Istrefi and asked the court for the accused to be punished according to the law.

He said that as a result of this, both his home and his wealth had been lost, suggesting that there were ongoing threats to this effect.

Even the defender of accused Hajredini, lawyer Naim Rudari, during the final speech, said neither the prosecutor nor the injured offered evidence to the court to plead guilty.

Lawyer Rudari proposed to the court that the accused Hajredin be acquitted, after saying he had never been tried and would never be proved the same criminal offense for which he was charged. Even the accused Hajredini said he supports his lawyer's word.

Similarly, the defender of the accused Kadriu, lawyer Ali Beka, said that the most fair verdict would be against his defenders to issue a loose judgment. The lawyer's word was supported by the accused Kadriu, adding that the prosecutor had the wrong description of the facts.

While the defender of the accused Halimi, lawyer Tahir Rrecaj during his final speech proposed that his defender be acquitted of the prosecution after saying there was no evidence the same had committed the criminal act for which he was charged. And his word supported Halimi.

Finally, the defender of the defendant Sheqiri, lawyer Blerim Qela, offered the court to defend him from prosecution.

The accused Sheqiri said he was injured in the case, adding that he supports the attorney Qela's final word.

The chairman of the court, Judge Gazmend Bahtiri, announced this judicial investigation as the announcement concerning this criminal case takes place on November 13th, 2023.

The incident was set up on March 23, 2016. It says that Nexhat Hajredini Naim Kadriu, Arben Sheqiri, and Agron Halimi are accused of delivering money in file for Arton Shala, who had declared to court that one accused had sent three people to beat him.
