Local police in Hamburg have said a young girl has been released who is suspected to have been taken hostage from father at Hamburg airport.
For 18 hours, the airport has been closed.
The man has driven the car beyond the safety limit and entered the airport floor on Saturday evening with his four - year - old daughter.
He then parked the car under a plane.
In the end, he surrendered to authorities “without resisting”, according to police, who has arrested him.
“The child appears not to be hurt”, police said through a post on X ʹ platform known as Twitter.
The incident has resulted in delays and cancellation of dozens of flights. / REL
