The murder of Triumf Riza, Apel turns Ilir Abdullah into detention for being released on bail

The Court of Appeals has turned Ilir Abdullah into custody, suspected of killing police officer Triumf Riza.

Abdullahu had been released from custody by the Pristina Court after granting 100,000 euros in bail. However, Apel has approved the request of the Prosecutor, who had complained about the Constitutional Court's decision.

News of Ilir Abdullah's return to custody for KALLXO.com has confirmed the case's judge, Kujtim Krasniqi.

“Yes, today Appeal has made the decision, and I have issued the warrant and the defendant has appeared at station”, Krasniqi said.

Ilir Abdullah had been looking for the police for nearly 15 years.

He was in handcuffs on July 16, 2023.

The case attorney, Rescue Peci, said he had filed complaints against the Court's decision, but that he had not yet accepted the verdict.

I have filed complaints about the Court's decision on bail. It's a decision to restore it again I've filed complaints because I've seen it on the street and right that the person is in custody but for the second complaint I haven't made a decision or an answer from the Court so I don't know whether his arrest has been made because I've wished my right to complaint but for my second complaint of”, the special prosecutor said.

Ilir Abdullah, known as “Lisa”, is suspected of a criminal offence that had been committed on August 30th 2007 in Pristina, where the slain had remained Trife Riza serving as a police officer in the Kosovo Police Service.

An 11 bullets were fired from Arben Berisha, and three of them shot him to death.

The same since the arrest has been in custody, while on October 3rd, 2023 his lawyer, Rame Dresaj, had filed a request for replacing the detention measure with the bail at many of the 50 thousand euros or more.

What was Ilir Abdullah's role in the murder of Triumf Riza?

The special prosecutor's indictment, which has been brought against Enver Sekiraqas, claims that Arben Berisha to carry out the act in question, was prompted by Sekiraqa, and that Berisha had a reliable man.

The prosecution also alleges that Arben Berisha had been deprived of Riza's life in co-ordination with Abdullah, Ilir Abdullah and Fitim Avdiu.

On the first charge charged by defendant Enver Sekiraqa, in which he explains in detail how he came to the murder of Triumf Riza, is also shown the role Ilir Abdullah played that was arrested 15 years later.

The file says the four defendants have done Riza's murder very cruel and deceptively because of a unscrupulous revenge or any other motive.

“Expectively personal revenge against the mention of Triumf Riza” says on charges.

The charge explains how prior to the murder, the group in question - the four accused - have cooperated among themselves and have conveyed Riza's movements in order to follow his ways. It was the same day that Ilir Abdullah had received the message “Komshiiu had his car in Grandi's” parking lot.

This message was sent to Ilir's phone by Fitim Avdiu, during the time he and Enver Sekiraq, Arben Berisha and Beatdown Abdullah were at the “cafe. Sekiraqa” on “Bill Clinton”

This message, according to the indictment, referred to victim Triumf Riza, whose residence was said to be on the opposite side of the street where the café “was located. Sekiraqa”, which was then located in the Pristina Hotel “Grand”.

Upon accepting this SMS, the prosecution says Arben Berisha, Beating Abdullah and Ilir Abdullah, driving the latter's car, which was the type “Passat”, went to the “Quenes” cafe.

At this cafe, Arben Berisha was told to have stepped in armed with the Glock, while the other two -- Ilir Abdullah's beating -- continue at another cafe in order to host the Triumf Riza.

Riza claims to have been a regular client at the cafe AM/ PMUE after he gets out of there and starts walking towards his car, which was in the parking lot “

The charge shows that Arben Berisha had run after him and fired 11 bullets without any warning or provocation.

Three of the shots fired had hit Triumf Riza, wounding him to death.

“The way the murder was cruel and deceptive because it was pre-planned and executed by a group against a defenseless victim who was shot from behind”- is said to be the indictment against Enver Sekirras.

The prosecution further says the murder was organised and co-ordinated by a number of individuals who were members of the so-called “group Sekiraqa”, whose leader himself was Enver Sekiraqa.

Triumf Riza, according to this indictment, was killed after years of having spent his death, he had been a target for revenge.

In 2004, Riza was associated with Adelina Ismajli, who says that since 2003 she had been suffering at the hands of his gang defendants after Enver Sekiraqa had often threatened him.

The prosecution even says that in many cases, Sekiraqa had forced Adelina Ishmali to give him various amounts of money ranging from hundreds of euros to $9,000.

The charges said they were finished when Triumf Riza had taken protection from Adelain Ishmael.

Riza reportedly had told Ishmael to refuse to make these payments before Enver Sekiraq and report to the police any other case of intimidation.

The prosecution also shows that on December 24, 2005, at a nightclub called “Swiss Casino” in Pristina, there had been a violent clash between Triumf Riza and Enver Sekiraqa's gang.

Gunshots were also involved in the fight, and a number of individuals were injured.

Even Enver Sekiraqa, who had been hospitalised as a result of the violent Risa incident, was said to have been injured in this incident.

This incident, according to the indictment, has prompted Enver Sekiraqen to actively seek revenge against Triumf Riza.

Later, even on May 22, 2006, Enver Sekiraqa was involved in a violent incident with other Kosovo Police members in Ferizaj.

For this, the defendant also blames Triumf Riza, believing he had encouraged his police colleagues to attack Sekiraq.

The prosecution also says that Enver Sekiraqa had orchestrated the killing of Triumf Riza, organising his gang to follow Triumf Riza and inciting Arben Berisha, who was his trusted person within the group to shoot the murder.

Triumf Riza shows that he had never had a problem with Arben Berisha, but only Enver Sekiraq.
