French President Emmanuel Macron announced that a humanitarian conference on the war between Israel and Hamas will be held in Paris on November 9th.
He reiterated calls for a ceasefire in Israel's offensive at the Gaza Strip to protect civilians.
“We call for a ceasefire because the fight against terrorism does not justify sacrificing civilians”, the French leader said.
Israeli forces also bombed the Office of Agence France-Press in Gaza, causing significant damage to the building, but without casualties among the AFP staff, who were evacuated south of Gaza.
The Gaza Belt, controlled by Hamas, the home of 2.3 million people, has been under a total siege from Israel for nearly four weeks, restricting all access to food, water and fuel for Hamas' surprise attacks on Israeli soil on October 7th, in which more than 1400 people died.
According to Hamas-controlled health authorities in Gaza, more than 9,200 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli land and air offensive, which has been sent to a siege of Gaza City since Thursday evening.
Otherwise, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will meet today with leaders of several Arab countries to discuss a ceasefire in Gaza.
