Kurti meets representatives of two renewable energy companies, Kosovo's interest in foreign investors

Prior to the start of the Paris Peace Forum, Republic of Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti met representatives of two French renewable energy field companies, “Voltalia” and “TotalEnergies”, the ZKM reports.
According to ZKM, Kurti first met with the International Development Director of “Voltalia”, Gustavo Fernandez, chairman of the international projects of this company with collaborators, and then met with EuroAzi Vice President for Development for “TotalEngies”, Antonie Garret, with associates.
The prime minister underlined the interest of the Republic of Kosovo to welcome foreign investors and the Government's dedication to creating a favourable environment for them. He announced representatives of “Voltala” and “TotalEnergies” with the details of the Energy Strategy 2022-2031, which aims to add 1,200MW from renewable sources. He singled out existing and future projects for the construction of new generation capacities from solar and wind energy, with emphasis on the possibilities the current auction offers for building 100MW from solar energy announced by the Ministry of Economy, and the next wind auction with capacity of up to 150 MW, which is expected to be announced over the next year, and spoke of government planned investments in this sector for the next three years”, the report said.
Furthermore, ZKM emphasises that “Prime Minister Kurti singled out successes in combating crime and corruption, rule of law, democratic progress, institutional stability and functionalisation of the Commercial Court, along with geographical position, legal framework, and professional power as priorities Kosovo offers for foreign investors. The prime minister noted that Kosovo in recent years has marked significant BVP growth, which next year will be 50% higher than it was in 2020”.
