The Dehar family lawyer, Tome Gashi, has announced that a protest will be held today for the prosecution's transparency of the death of Vetevendosje Movement activist Astrit Deharit.
Through a Facebook post, Gashi has said that the protest will be organised at 12:00 in front of Pristina Special Prosecutor and Square “Zahir Pajaziti”.
The Astritic blood is not forgiven. It's been seven years since the murder of Astrit and the DA doesn't want to see the truth. Protest will be held due to prosecution's negligence in investigating V Movement activist's assassination She wrote Gashi on Facebook.
Vetevendosje Movement activist Astrit Dehari has died on November 5, 2016, while being held at the Pre-burging Centre in Prizren.
He had been in custody for allegedly attacking the Parliament building of August 4, 2016.
The circumstances of the 26-year-old's death still remained unclear, and it is not known what exactly had happened in his cell at the detention centre.
The first statements after Dehar's death were that the same man had used medicine and had killed himself, while later the statements changed in that he had breathing problems.
Dehar's parents, along with the political subject belonging to their son Astritus, have raised questions all the time pointing to power, even calling Astri's death a murder.
To clarify the circumstances of Astrit's death, parents and lawyer Tome Gashi sought expertise from the University Law Medicine Centre Institute in Lozanne, Switzerland.
In the December 24th report, the Lausanne Institute of Legal Medicine in Switzerland has given comments that Dehar's death is unlikely to be suicide.
In Mr. Dehari, if we accept the suicide hypothesis, the two methods would have been sequenced, the first has to do with using a sharp object on the neck and left key, and the second has to do with a bottle of plastic. This hypothesis, however, seems slightly possible for the following reasons”, said the Swiss Institute report.
