Former Inspector of the Kosovo Intelligence Agency (AKI), Shzen Soopyan, has warned renewed shots in the direction of police in northern Mitrovica.

Soopjan on the <x0.> Personal” RTV Duagjini show, has said the situation does not seem prepared for further conflicts, but has certain security fragility, especially because of Serbia.

The security situation is not disturbing, but it is not fragile because it has fragility and all because of the northern neighbour that we have Serbia, as their primary interest is that Kosovo is as uncertain and stable as possible. I know for a fact that they have not arrived at their mission, have failed, and the biggest failure has been seen even in the last few days, he said.

Sopijan has added that there have been warnings of a possible attack in northern Kosovo.

The warning of a potential attack in the north has been made on the basis of experience and expertise by making comparisons and knowing what they are able to do, so that for me the security institutions have been expected, they have not been surprised because they also knew something like that would happen”, the former AKI inspector has followed.

He has warned that security authorities should be prepared for any sporadic action on the part of Serbs.

And it all happened and we came out extremely open and arrogant in what we saw and didn't rule out that there might be a lot less probability of having something like this, but some sporatic action isn't disfellowshipped today. There could be a shootout against members of the police, because they [Serbs] have turned out to be injured and disappointed by this situation and will try to humiliate us before their public.

Sopijan has stressed that police members in Kosovo should be on guard against any possible dangers, as Serbs are disappointed and humiliated, as well as could be involved in any shooting at police members.

Despite the challenges, Sopijan has estimated that the security situation is not fragile until it is out of control, and the growing number of KFOR members is another factor aimed at improving security in the region.

Serbia is and has remained in an illusion, which the illusion feeds on fanatics and sick nationalisms because they don't see cures beyond Serbia and Serbs in this part, but they have a clear share of them that are becoming aware and seeing that it's not good to live in this illusion because it's not easy to be Russia's satellite, because geopolitical circumstances are changing<1>, Soopani concluded.
