A total of 63 cases of attacks and threats against journalists and media have been reported in the Kosovo Journalists' Association since January until the end of October of this year.
In these 63 reported cases, 30 cases have been recorded in the reporting of journalists and media in the country's north, while the rest of the cases have been reported by different areas and reports.
According to data owned by the AGK, for only four cases reported to the organisation and the Kosovo Police, the court procedure has been launched, where assailants have been pronounced a month-long detention measure.
The municipalities that lead most cases of reported attacks and threats are Pristina on 22 occasions, Zvecan and Leposaviqi, with 13 cases. As other municipalities reported, the cases are: I took two cases, Prizren 4 cases, North Mitrovica 1 case, Fushe Kosova 1 case, add 3 cases, Kamenica -1 case and Zubin Potoku two cases.
To raise awareness of the importance of punishing attacks and threats against Kosovo journalists and media, the Association of Journalists, tomorrow, November 2nd, International Day to End the impunity of crimes against journalists, will mark it through an online campaign, publishing the positions of ambassadors, partners, journalists, as well as media lawyers.
Once, within the framework of the regional platform, Safe Journalists, AGK together with other Western Balkan states, will require colleagues to report cases of threats and attacks on them in competent institutions.
