Egyptian television has begun to show live footage of trucks entering Gaza through Rafah crossing.
The US Embassy said earlier that the border crossing between Egypt and Gaza will open this morning to allow foreigners to leave.
The aid convoy includes 20 trucks carrying medicine, medical equipment and a limited amount of food, Hamas' media office said.
Earlier this week, Israel agreed that assistance could be sent to Gaza after talks with US President Joe Biden.
However, he said that aid will not enter through Israel just across the border with Egypt.
