Robert Wood, deputy permanent representative of the United States of America at the United Nations Organisation, has called for Serbian terrorists responsible for the September 24th attack on Banjska to be held accountable.
Wood stressed that the September 24th attack revealed that citizens were endangered and that NATO and EU forces were at the same time endangered, writes Reporter.net.
“The US condemns the September 24th attack. It was an act that revealed a direct risk to the lives of Kosovo citizens and also put NATO and EU troops at risk. There must be full responsibility based on law. Individuals who fled to third countries [Serbia] must be extradited or prosecuted”, Wood said.
He further called for Kosovo and Serbia to return to dialogue.
“We call on the parties for an immediate return to the EU's relaxed dialogue prepared to take concrete steps forward. It is important that the parties make progress in implementing all dialogue commitments. ”
“We continue to support dialogue as the best way to reconcile Kosovo and Serbia”, he said, Reporter.net reported.
Wood also stressed that the US's welcomes the rise of KFOR's number in the north.

“We commend the Kosovo Police for their response to the 24 September attack and close co-ordination with KFOR and EULEX both during the attack and during the” investigation.
“U n NMIC has long fulfilled its mission and no longer has any role in governing Kosovo”, Wood concluded.
