As for this government proposal, the Union says they are low and that they do not reason on the work and riskability of the Kosovo Police.
“1. The surplus for risklessness will not remain lower than what was accepted prior to the introduction of the Law of Salaries, which has been on seven levels ranging from 105 euros and higher than 215 euros, or with percentages in the base wage ranging from 25% to 50%.
2. While for civilian staff, the cofficiency can be harmonised with the workplace and the professions they perform.
The discontent among all members of the police is great, so we demand that, in the short term, realising these requirements and preliminary requirements be made with the aim of improving conditions and well-being in the Kosovo Police”, the report says.
Full communication:
At the meeting, held on the 30.10.23, the Kosovo Police Union Steering Council, after analyzing recent developments including the Government's proposal for risk extensions, released this media communiqué.
The Kosovo Police Union supports all the reasonable and legitimate demands of each police official and other supporters of the Kosovo Police.
As for the Government's proposal for the extensions of riskability, we estimate they are low and do not reason the work and riskability of the Kosovo Police, so they are unacceptable to each category, they are discriminated against for all entities, because all police officials face danger every day, and this testifies to the number of police officials who have lost their lives during the performance of official office.
The Kosovo Police Union advocates the interests of all members of police in order to improve welfare and conditions for work, they did so in an organised way, in consultation and co-ordination with its membership.
From the meeting held, the Steering Council came up with these demands:
The discontent among all members of the police is great, so we demand that, in the short term, realising these requirements and preliminary requirements be made with the aim of improving conditions and well-being in the Kosovo Police.
Members of the Kosovo Police Special Intervention Unit (NJSI) warned a protest two days ago to express their frustrations over the decision on additional police officers, which was taken during the government meeting.
The protest has been called for Wednesday (November 1st), and the request has been addressed to Pristina's “Police Station”.
The announcement says that the protest site will be the “square Skenderbeu” (front government object) in Pristina beginning from 12:30 to 12:30.
