The European emissary, Miroslav Lajcak, after meeting with Prime Minister Kurti today in the Government of Kosovo, has stressed that Kosovo must start with the establishment of the Serb majority municipalities' association.
“Kurti has a responsibility to make progress in normalising relations if Kosovo will make progress towards the EU. Now we have to stress the need to move to the establishment of association without any delay. Without that, there will be no progress of Kosovo on the European road”, Lajcak said.
We appreciate Kurt's readiness to continue our discussions quickly. We will continue in Belgrade where we will meet President Vuciq”.
Lajcak also spoke of their discussions with Kurt.
“We had a deep and conservative discussion with Prime Minister Kurti and Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi about how relations with Kosovo and Serbia should advance and make progress in implementing past agreements. We listened attentively to the views of Prime Minister Kurti and also concerns about the security situation in northern Kosovo”.
Lajcak also spoke to the September 24th terrorist attack, repeating that clearly all responsible ones must be brought to justice and that from Serbia seek to co-operate fully and concrete actions in this direction.
And here I mean that the terrorist attack against the Kosovo Police by armed individuals constitutes a clear and unprecedented crossing. We expressed our condolences to Prime Minister Kurti and strongly condemned the attack on September 24th”, Lajcak has said, adding that at the meeting, he stressed that deespass and normalisation are more needed than ever now.
