Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has demanded that additional KFOR forces, which have been sent to Kosovo, be focused on preserving the border between Kosovo and Serbia”.
He made that request during a meeting with the commander of NATO's peacekeeping mission in Kosovo, Ozkan Uluntas.
According to the announcement, Kurti and Ulutas discussed the security situation in Kosovo, following the September 24th attack on police in Zvecan Banisk.
During the attack by the armed group of Serbs by police, Sergeant Africa Bunnjak was killed. In the clashes, authorities said three Serb attackers were also killed.
Kurti said Kosovo is interested in boosting co-operation with KFOR.
The prime minister welcomed the addition of the number of KFOR troops, in response to Serbia's terrorist attack in Kosovo, stressing that this increased presence should focus on preserving the border between Kosovo and Serbia, since Serbia's arms have entered, and the threat to Kosovo comes. Maintaining the border also means closing illegal roads, so greater co-operation with the Kosovo Police” is necessary, the Kurti Office announced.
