Prime Minister Albin Kurti from Greece has called for implementation of this year's agreements with Serbia. He has said Kosovo is ready to implement the Brussels and Ohrid Accords, but has accused Serbia of refusing to implement “because the content is de facto recognition”.
In Greece from the <x0 panel, the deepening of solidarity: How can Europe emerge more powerful from current geopolitical riots?”, organised by the “The Economist”, Kurti has been alarmed by Serbia's aggression and ongoing threats. While seeking coalition of democratic states against autocratia, Kurti has said that in the case of Kosovo and Serbia, agreements reached this year must be implemented.
“I'm offered to sign in Brussels and then in Ohrid, but Belgrade doesn't want because the content is de facto recognition”, Kurti said, adding that this agreement is modeled by “2 Germany”.
What we miss is implementation. In the history of the agreements, we have over 40 agreements, but we are trapped in action. They're like two different planets. We must bring them to the same continent, Europe. I'm willing to sign whatever I say. It was the same case as the other side and then the difficulties --” happened, Kurt said on the panel.
Kurti has said that Balkan states that want to join the European Union should be helped by the EU for faster union. He has said the EU should be reformed within and at the same time expanded. Another point of security importance, he has praised the strengthening of the transatlantic bridge.
He has also talked about Serbia's threats, which he has said have already provided numerous evidence showing involvement as a state in the Kosovo Police attack on 24 September. He has said Kosovo as a state is trying to build on democratic grounds, while Serbia is trying to stop progress. /Time/
