Kosovo Deputy Chairman of the PDK Assembly Enver Hoxhaj has reacted following the rejection of the Vetevendosje Movement to introduce the PDK-proposed resolution to empower the Kosovo Police in the agenda.
Hoxhaj at the Kosovo Assembly session said the parliamentary majority's move is absurd.
“Today it was absurd to see that the ruling majority, the paramilitary majority, will not take any action in supporting the Kosovo Police in terms of additional risklessness, but also their early retirement”, Hoxhaj said.
Hoxhaj said this resolution was nothing but unity, which Kosovo citizens and every Albanian are seeking.
“I ask you as a parliamentary majority to put in the next session in the agenda such a resolution that should reflect the new reality of the Republic of Kosovo”, he added.
The chairman of the PDK Parliamentary Group, Abelard Tahiri, at the current session of the Kosovo Parliamentary Assembly has proposed resolution to empower the Kosovo Police.
Tahiri said this resolution contained three extremely important points through which the Kosovo Assembly and Government enter a support agenda for the Kosovo Police.
On behalf of the PDK Parliamentary Group, I propose that we change the agenda. Just as we were unique a week ago, to be unique that part of the agenda of this session is a resolution with which we will support the Police of the Republic of Kosovo. This resolution contains three extremely important points through which the Kosovo Assembly and Government enter a support agenda for the Kosovo Police. By means of this resolution, we propose that 15 days from its adoption be shared means for additional riskability for the Kosovo Police. Also, within 60 days the early retirement bill of police officials is adopted, while January 1st 2024 covers the payment of health insurance for police officials”, Tahiri has said.
However, the president of the VV Parliamentary Group, Mimoza Kusari Lila, has rejected this PDK proposal.
“We assess and express the reserve support for the Kosovo Police. What we as a parliamentary group are looking for is to sit down and have a detailed consultation. It is not the idea to crash and debate who the Kosovo Police value, but to decide immediately as the point of the agenda, as requested have budgetary implications”
Meanwhile, the LDK has supported this proposal. Arben Gashi said this:
I didn't understand the chairman of Vetevendosje's parliamentary group, that the proposal is concrete, we as a group appreciate that it meets the conditions to enter into the agenda and then we discuss, we debate”. /Periscopi
