US Ambassador to Pristina Jeff Hovenier said the United States will take measures after proving who stands behind the September 24th attack in the village of Banjska in northern Kosovo.
In an interview for Voice of America, he pointed out that it's not about groups collected spontaneously.
There are some things we know. We know that this group of individuals was not spontaneous. These individuals, all reportedly Serbs, had access and possessed highly sophisticated weapons that cannot be bought on the local market. It must have a structure, usually state structure that offers those weapons to”, said Havener.
“We know that most of the [war] material they left behind was originally from Serbia. We know that Milan Radovici, who was deputy chairman of the Serbian List party, made a public statement through his lawyer, taking responsibility and saying he had organised the attack and taken over. These are things we know and are trying to understand more about the” attack, Houvenier added.
Houvenier says it is known that this could not happen spontaneously.
“As we have said before, there were structures or organizations. What we're trying to do is figure out exactly how this” worked, has declared Havener.
Ambassador Havenier said the United States wants Serbia to co-operate with the full lighting of events and bringing authors to justice.
