US Ambassador to Serbia Christopher Hill has talked about the aggression that took place on 24 September in the village of Banjsk of Zvecan, saying that responsibility must be found and that never happen again.
He stressed that he thinks the good news is that de-progress has become largely.
The number of bodies was much higher and has now returned to normal. That's good news. Now what we need to find out is what really happened. I saw Radojchiki's statement and I don't understand how someone might think it's good for Serbia to engage in such activities. We need to find out what happened, who's involved, we need to find responsibility and make sure that this tragic and dangerous situation doesn't happen again. The road is to return to dialogue”, Hill has declared in an interview for Euro News Serbia.
Hill, also underlined that the parties must return to dialogue to find the solution.
The “E know it's boring, we know what elements are on the table and we need to give Lajcak a chance to finish what it started, so that Kosovo Serbs and Kosovo know what they can do, and that Kosovo has an opportunity for internationalisation. It has all the elements for this, the deal should just end”, Hill said.
The US ambassador to Serbia prefers when people sit at the table and face issues that need to be resolved.
When it comes to measures against Serbia, it is clear that what happened is what Radociq was doing there and why, and the responsibilities are sought. It is necessary to continue this effort when there is crisis, and when there is a process of political replacement, these are dangerous things. We need peace and stability and the best way is to go back to the” dialogue, he said.
What I see is that Mr Radojciq is accused of some serious criminal acts and I would say it's up to prosecutors to talk about it. We have a question. How can we prevent this from happening again? Think that by entering Kosovo's territory, gathering weapons, causing fear in people, entering the monastery, contributing to peace and stability in this part of the world, we need to know why someone has done this”.
Hill also referred to the issue of responsibility for the events in Banjska.
We need to find out what happened two weeks ago. We want to prevent it from happening again, but first you need to know what happened. It is up to Belgrade to make a serious investigation and find out what it was about, of course, not for peace and stability for Serbia, nor did it in any way help Serbia and Serbs in Kosovo”, he said.
