The French Embassy in Kosovo has clarified the declaration in Tirana to French President Emanule Macron about visa liberalisation for Kosovo.

In a response to the media, France's embassy in Kosovo has said that the emphasis on the Macron declaration has been more the search for responsibility by Vuciqi for the 24 September acts.

“During the media conference with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, president of the Republic of France Emmanuel Macro, stressed the need for both sides to testify to a spirit of responsibility. He clearly underlined his expectations by Serbian President Vuciq -- to condemn with greater determination the acts of September 24th and to help restore calm at the” border.

France wants the complete dawn of the terrorist attack in Banjska.

“We want the total lighting of the September 24th attack and its authors brought to justice”.

According to the French Embassy, the Macron Kosovo has been asked for commitment to reassemble elections in northern municipalities.

It called on both sides to engage in reshuffle of elections in northern Kosovo, with Serb participation and their return to Kosovo institutions”.

The French Embassy further says Macron did not mention visa annulment.

“He called for a spirit of responsibility of Serbian President Vuciq, and he had the same expectations from the Kosovo president and prime minister. It was in this context that he also mentioned the issue of visa liberalisation, which was a gesture of trust but was not mutual in this period. Therefore, he expects the Kosovo authorities, as well as Serbian authorities, to respect the word given and re-agreed to move forward in the coming weeks”, are said further in the French Embassy's response to the media.

Otherwise, France's president, Emmanuel Macron, said in Tirana on October 17th that France made a “get trust on the visa issue for Kosovo”.

I want to say one thing with a lot of clarity. We have made a gesture of confidence on the visa issue. As for France, they [visions] are removed because we respect the word given. And today, the word is not being held. I expect a real commitment from these two authorities [Kosovo and Serbia] to move forward in the coming weeks. This is the very condition for peace in the entire region”, Macron declared.
