Bushati: Serbia to see with Kosovo eyes

Former Foreign Minister Ditmir Bushati stressed that Albania should see Serbia with the eyes of Kosovo. During an interview for “Real Story”, questioned by journalist Sokol Balla for clashes between Tirana and Pristina, he said there should be a strain and co-ordination of relations. “S first, in case we refer to the relationship between [...]
The first “, if we refer to relations between Albania and Kosovo, are excellent because we talk about a nation and there's some barrier between human, economic and exchange. So, we should equal politics with the relationships that are between us. This is important, meanwhile, that I think there is a need for a expansion and consequential co-ordination of official relations. First among Albania and Kosovo, Tirana and Pristina. Albania is an independent state that in 1912, has access to several international organisations in which Kosovo is not present. Albania for great luck has not been part of the former Yugoslavia. Our relations with Serbia are more marked by the way Albanians have been treated in the former Yugoslavia and in this context, we do not recognise Serbia except with the eyes of Kosovo. We need to be alert, that Serbia as soon as we try to develop normal reports and try, we need to see for the eyes of Kosovo.”, Bushati said.
The former foreign minister also stopped at the resolution of the Albanian parliament, adopted a few days ago, condemning the Serbian attack on Zvecan Banjska, saying he expected certain tasks to be determined. Bushati says Albania should seek an investigation into the Council of Europe for this attack.
“Albania must do its tasks. It adopted a resolution, it did not suit me that it took us two weeks to say we agreed with the Kosovo parliament, while in an hour the entire political class joined in condemning Hamas' attack on Israel. So with all due respect for Albania, we have a modest role in the Middle East, the main role is in the region. I expected a resolution where parliament determined duties for myself and the government. Then Albania must be mobilized to go to the Council of Europe and seek investigation into the issue, to have an international reporter. Albania has several tasks stemming from the mother state“, the former minister added.
As for Pristina's failure to co-ordinate with the Albanian government on important issues, Bushati added: “in Pristina's direction, I think Pristina's first door has been, is, and will be Tirana for everything. It happened even when I was in government that there were demands that official Pristina made towards official institutions without co-ordination with Tirana. I've been thinking about it, and I keep thinking about it today. Of course, Albania does not replace either the US, Germany, Britain or France. There must be two mechanisms that have to work like Swiss watches if we want to have an effectiveness. And this mechanism depends on how the Albanian factor in the Western Balkans operates. ”
