In 9 years since the Berlin process was launched, the EU has mobilised 9 billion euros for the region in grants and soft loans to invest in four major pillars shared in trade, investment, furniture and digital integration.
In total since 2009, we have received about 350m euros in grants, ranking fourth. Of these 270m euros have been on infrastructure projects, while energy projects come in second with 35m euros. Experts say that in addition to financial assistance, even a series of relief agreements such as that of lowering roting prices are the fundamental contribution of the Berlin process to the economy
An indicator that has been focused on the integration process is now the Western Balkans' economic convergence towards the EU. The region's economies have gross domestic output of about 35% of the EU average, a profound margin.
