Today there is the Appeal hearing in the case against Salih Mustafa

The Special Chambers Appeal Court today holds the hearing in the case of Salih Mustaf. According to Special Intelligence, the trial will be held between 13:30 and 17:10.

Salih Mustafa allegedly was commander of the BIA guerrilla unit, which operated within the Lyp Operational Zone of the Kosovo Liberation Army (‘UÇK’).

The Acropolis charges him with crimes committed by several KLA members against detained persons at the detention complex in the village of Zlath, in Kosovo's Gollak region. The presentation of evidence on this court case ended on June 20, 2022, and concluding statements were made on September 13th-15th 2022.

The indictment was declared on December 16, 2022: The Judicial Chamber announced Mr. Mustafa guilty of war crimes of arbitrary ban, torture and unlawful murder and sentenced him to 26 years in prison.

There were eight participating victims in the case. The pronunciation of the order to undo the victims took place on April 6, 2023: The Judicial Chamber ordered Mustafa to pay a total of 207,000 euros in compensation for the damage inflicted on the crime victims for which it was convicted.

On February 2, 2023, Mustafa's (confidenial) defense of appeals against Action. The latest edited version of the correct defence appeal file was submitted on September 15, 2023. The appeals hearing is scheduled to be held on October 26th and October 27, 2023.
