Albania's president, Bajram Begaj, held a meeting today with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyeen.
Acceleration of the European Union integration process, the security situation in Europe and the Western Balkans, regional co-operation within the framework of the Berlin Process was the main topics at the Begaj von Der Leenen meeting.
“Albania is set on its journey to the European Union”, Begaj said at this meeting.
Stopping in the critical security situation Europe and the Western Balkans are going through, Begaj assured Mrs. Von Der Layen that “Albania continues to support and be connected with EU foreign and security policies. ”
Begaj took advantage of this meeting to welcome the European Union's positions for stabilising peace in the region, seeking to punish the September 24th Serbian terrorist attack on a sovereign country like Kosovo and destabilising the entire region.
Citing the historic event of the Berlin Process leaders' summit for the first time in a Western Balkan country in Tirana on Tuesday, President Begaj said it is faithful that this summit will foster better relations between the countries of the Western Balkans and that it will build the necessary tracks for the creation of an economic market in the area, the tracks that will then be extended towards the common European Union market. /Top Channel/
