In an interview given for NTV television late Tuesday, Kalin has stressed that Turkey will not accept expansion by even 1km of Greece in the Ionian Sea.
“Turkey will not accept any extension, even for a single mile”, Kalin has said, adding that if Greece decides to make such a move, Turkey will provide a powerful “response”.
Kalin, however, has not said that an expansion of territorial waters would be seen as a case justifying Turkey's military actions.
His comments echo similar statements made last days by Turkey's foreign and defence ministers.
