The wage bill was adopted in the Kosovo Assembly on 22 December last year.
President's office has agreed to announce, Law No. 08/ L-196 for Salaries in Public Sector today, January 4, 2023. Following legal tests by the President's Office, President Osmani has decreed the Declaration of the Law on Salaries in Public Sector, but today, on January 4, 2023x1>, Bekim Kupina Media Adviser of the President's Office has been declared.
After the president's decree, the law is published in the official newspaper and a month later takes effect.
For this law, it was warned that it would be sent to the Constitutional Court. Kosovo Judiciary Council Chief Chairman Albert Zogaj had said that in the event the Law for the Salaries is laid down, the salary cut for judges will see all possibilities for this law to be forwarded to the Constitutional Court.
Also, over 30 unions and organisations have rejected the law.
And Justice Minister Albulen Haxhiu has said that it is still not known how much the cofficient based on this Law will be. “Ende is not known how much the cofficient will be, because it is becoming the categorying of jobs”, the justice minister wrote.
It is strange how the president has decreed this Law, even though the amount of the cofficient is not known.
