In the party's response, President Osmani and Prime Minister Kurti are said to have started installing militants in RTK.
RTK's “capture by Prime Minister Albin Kurti with the support of President Vjosa Osmani has been starting since the election of members of the RTK Board, who are now using them for the realisation of the ruling party's political plan to install militants in the leadership position, today climaxing with the appointment of militant Relind Gervalla as director of Public Television”, it is said in response.
According to the PDK, now that a VVI militant was elected director, public television will serve as Prime Minister Albin Kurti's megaphone.
With these appointments, RTK will no longer be in public service, but will be used as the megaphone of Albin Kurti and Vetevendosje, while militants who will lead RTK will receive orders from their party ideologists and propagandists”, it says, among other things.
Full response:
Prime Minister Albin Kurti and his party have installed their multi-year-old militant Rylind Gervala as director of Kosovo Public Television from today.
In the course of apprehending each independent institution in Kosovo, Prime Minister Albin Kurti in close co-ordination with his partner, President Vjosa Osmani, has now begun installing their militants at Kosovo's Radio Public Television.
RTK's capture by Prime Minister Albin Kurti with the support of President Vjosa Osmani has been starting since the election of members of the RTK Board, who are now using them for realisation of the ruling party's political plan to install militants in the leadership position, now cremating with the appointment of militant Rylind Gervalla as director of Public Television.
With these appointments, RTK will no longer be in public service, but will be used as the megaphone of Albin Kurti and Vetevendosje, while militants who will lead RTK will receive orders from their party ideologists and propagandists.
Through the capture of Kosovo's Public Television Radio with party militants; power is aimed at grasping the minds of citizens from which they are most afraid.
Therefore, through the installation of militant Rilind Gervalla as director, Prime Minister Albin Kurti is aiming to use it RTK for the propaganda and agitation of the “type what it has, what sʹka”, to distort the reality and truth of its ill-governance.
Rilind Gervalla, the newly appointed director of eight RTK Board members, is Vetevendosje's militant now 15 years, participating in all party organisations.
Neither social requirements for transparency and meritiocracy nor calls of international associations and civil society for failing to politicise public broadcasters were able to halt the momentum of Albin Kurti and Vetevendosje's project to capture RTK.
The Democratic Party of Kosovo considers RTK's capture and submission under power is a step further against free speech and media freedom in Kosovo.
