The referenda will be held from Friday to Tuesday in Donnetsk, Luhansk, and in the spaces occupied by Russia at Kherson and Zaporizija, Skynews reports.
This area includes about 15% of Ukraine's overall territory.
The West has criticised these referenda, calling them “masquerade”, until NATO allies have declared they will not recognise the annexation of Ukrainian territories from the Russians through <x2-cyleg and non-legistial referenda”.
