Kosovo entry prohibited, Dimitrije Markovic and Nenad Jeremic

Pristina, September 10th 2022

Institutions of the Republic of Kosovo have been banned today from entering Kosovo, Dimitrije Markovic and Nenad Jeremic. The decision to stop entry is made due to their activity against the sovereignty and national security of the Republic of Kosovo.

Markovik and Jeremic are known for pro-Russian elements, while using the cover of humanitarian activities, they have consistently spread propaganda against Kosovo, thus promoting interethnic hatred, with the aim of undermining the country's image and not showing the Serb community's situation in Kosovo.

In July of this year, the European Union had drawn attention to increasing risk by extreme right-wing groups in the Western Balkans region. One of the detainees has been a constant escort and member of the far-right organisation “The European Solidarity Fund for Kosovo ESFK” during their visits to Kosovo, in the composition of Czech, German, etc. This organisation promotes anti-Western sentiments, while supporting close ties with Russia.

The ESF was classified among the right-wing extremist movements at “The report on extremism on the territory of the Czech Republic”, published in 2013 by the Czech Republic's Interior Ministry.

In 2019, the security organs of the Republic of Kosovo had banned eight members of this organisation, who had planned to build a fear over the “Fadil Vokri” with the inscription “Kosovo is Serbia”.
