According to the report referring to August data of this year, 291,868 Albanian immigrants result in valid residence permits in Greece and constitutes 61.4 %s of regular foreigners.
This number also includes about 13,329 Albanian citizens who have been equipped with special identification card “as homogenus”, members of the Greek minority from Albania, who have lived for years in Greece. They make up 67 %s of foreigners who have been equipped with this status.

According to the Greek Minister for Migration and Asylum, at the same time a year ago the number of Albanians with valid residence permits was evidently higher.
In August 2021, according to the Greek Ministry of Migration and Asylum , 422,954 immigrants from Albania resulted in valid residence permits and constituted 63,07% of regular foreigners in Greece
The decline in the number of regular Albanian immigrants in Greece after a year is linked not only to the procedures of issuing residence permits, but also to a dynamic of Albanian movement working and living in Greece towards other European countries.
Many Albanians living for years in Greece have recently emigrated to northern European countries and towards Britain, following difficulties in Greece with employment and rising prices. / VOA/
