Greece joins powers with France against Turkey, Macro: I won't allow unrest in the Mediterranean

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and French President Emmanuel Macron sent Ankara a harsh message from Paris. French President Emmanuel Macron sent a clear message of France's full support for Greece during joint statements with the Greek prime minister prior to their meeting at the presidential Palace. “

French President Emmanuel Macron sent a clear message of France's full support for Greece during joint statements with the Greek prime minister prior to their meeting at the presidential Palace.

I will take the opportunity to thank Greece for the solidarity you showed this summer for the fires. Greece was on our side and it helped us and I want to thank you for moving solidarity. We won't forget it. The European solidarity mechanism for crisis management is functional and effective.
A year ago here in Elysee, we signed the defence partnership. We have strengthened our common security, we are strengthening European security and prosperity in areas of common interest”, Macron said, abcnews.al.

The French president added that today co-operation on such issues is more important in the face of challenges and that he will not allow unrest to occur in the Eastern Mediterranean, thus sending a clear message to Turkey.

Emmanuel Macron expressed his satisfaction today with his country's co-operation with Greece in the field of defence and security, naming Turkish statements against Greece as unacceptable.

We fully support Greece's sovereignty, and that is very clear. Partnership will not allow unrest in the eastern Mediterranean”, Emmanuel Macron said.

Today Turkey's foreign minister has made strong statements against Greece, warning them openly with war. “Greece follows, and this is my final warningto”, Mevlut Cavusoglu said during the memorial ceremony of Turkish victory against Greeks 100 years ago, after the latter had joined the coalition for the invasion of Anadol.

The Greek Air Force is increasing their aircraft capacity by taking in antix0> rifles from France, which are considered one of the most advanced aircrafts in the world beside the American. Taking “Rafale” has increased Greek self-confidence, where Hellenic officials have often challenged Turks by saying.

Recently there has been an increase in tensions between the two states, where a Turkish fishing boat was shot by Greek coastal guards, as well as reports that Greece's S-300 missiles in Crete targeted Turkish aircraft in the Aegean for several minutes.

Turks ask for Greece's deilitarisation of islands in front of Turkish soil, referring to international agreements, while Greeks are recently heavily armed in the face of threats from neighbours for war.

Also Macron referred to the energy crisis and said that” agreed on many issues dealing with energy prices”.

For his part, the Greek prime minister referred to the issue of increasing Turkish provocations in air and sea spaces violations in Greece.

My country is aware of threats from its neighbour. I will share with President Macro some thoughts about the growing Turkish provocation in the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean. I thank Macro for his clear support for Greece. We respond readily to the challenges and tell those who threaten to come to our islands at night, that we expect them in sunlight, when it is clear who has international right. Greece, aside from a containment force, is also a force of co-operation, and by summing up Greek-French co-operation in three words I would say: Together stronger”, the Greek prime minister has indicated.

The Greece-Turkey situation seems serious, as well as security experts stress that a Greece-Turkey war is inevitable and that will happen very soon.

Another factor assessed by experts as the reason it could light fire on the Turkish side relates to the fact that Turkey will go to the polls next spring and the ruling party has no good because of massive corruption and high prices. Thus, they feel that encouraging an external problem may be required to forget the internal problems.
