That's what Ukrainian officials reported.
However, in some cases, residents are being forced to vote, CNN writes.
These false referenda, expected to be held from Friday through Tuesday in four regions of Ukraine, are considered by Western governments as fraud.
There are no such referendums. Residents are ignoring them. Some people are simply being forced to vote. Some buses have even been sent by the Crimea with people to vote”, said Andriy Yusov, a Ukrainian Defence Intelligence official.
On the other hand, pro-Russian officials from the occupied areas are trying to create a narrator almost these referenda constitute a historic change.
“Today is a day that occurs in history once in a few centuries. I personally knew it would happen, always. I have always felt like part of the big family called Russia. Dreams have become reality”, said Vladimir Saldo, head of the region's Kherson administration, supported by Russia, in the telegram.
The votes continue until Tuesday.
