A business in Pristina will not increase the wages of workers so that its workers benefit the additional 50 euros from the government.
The owner of this cafe has said that this increase cannot be weathered, as he himself is in a financial crisis.
It's a small business that I can only keep with my wife and my two sons. I have two employees, but one of them had to move away. The work has dropped greatly that prices are rising. I'm holding these two because guys can't start school anymore. There's also a crisis in”.
According to him, the government was not supposed to impose such dedication.
Not an increase. I can't raise my salary. The government is supposed not to pay for business, the pandemic has damaged us a lot. Even exiles no longer know if 10 to 15 people come in exchange here”
Independent Private Sector Union Chairman Yusuf Azemi has said the Government has known that owners do not make this increase, so they have established this condition.
With this condition Kurt just put on us more harm. And we ask not of you but that which they are promised. This decision he has made is very funny, the beggar who in some form forces workers to seek donations from the owner then from the government. The government has conditioned because it has known that company owners will not make such an increase”, he told SHQIP.com.
He has said that if there is no response from the government by 20 September, they will go on strike.
“We are awaiting the reaction of the Government of Kosovo, and if it does not remove the conditioning related to providing 50 per cent of that additional companies will take other action. We are seeing it as deliberate conditioning not to achieve this objective. We're agreeing to lose 50 euros but at least have 50 euros of safe government. If this condition doesn't go away we and private public companies from September 20th will go on strike”.
Prime Minister Albin Kurti presented the new financial package last week.
Kurti said that 50 euros will be shared by September for public officials, while there will be simultaneous payment of 100 euros for public enterprise workers.
For pensioners, we will share a total of 100 euros, while families with social assistance will support by doubling the amount of assistance for a month. The employment of the workers is a priority and we will continue to support them. For public officials we will share the additional 50 euros starting in September, while for workers public enterprises we will share the amount of 100 euros”, he further said.
Furthermore, the government's chief executive pledged they would back businesses that raise workers' salaries, while stressing that students are expected to be separated from 100 euros.
We will support each business that increases workers' salaries by subsidising 50% of the maximum 100 euros wage raise for the first three months. We will also extend our support to the students for whom we will share 100 euros in November”, Kurti said.
We remember that from August 25th, public administration and teachers are on strike, as they are demanding an additional 100 euros a month, until the adoption of the Law of Pays.
While, in this regard, the Government has offered between 50 euros and 3 months. Many of this was rejected by strikers.
