The ruling party is considering that Kosovo is very close to abolishing visas. So told the AAK parliamentary debate about not liberalising visas on the part of the European Union. For failing to free movement of Kosovo citizens, MP Andmend Zemaj from the Democratic League of Kosovo has declared that he is not guilty only of the EU.

The latter at the plenary session said visa liberalisation is meritable for Kosovo citizens.

“in this great injustice of our citizens, who are being kept isolated and cannot move freely towards the EU countries, in a word we cannot blame the European Union alone. Because, it's clear and known here as well as worldwide that we had a golden opportunity in 2015-2016, when Kosovo was in a package with Georgia and Ukraine to get visa liberalisation. But everyone knows this was defeated by some figures as well as today's top state, and by several other officials on the obstacle to ratification of the demarcation agreement with Montenegro”, he has added.

He also cited the dropping of tear gas and the violence expressed in the country by the ruling party today.

Meanwhile, on behalf of the Vetevendosje Movement, MP Arberese Kryeziu has declared that this parliamentary debate has not been invited at appropriate time, since Kosovo, according to her, is close to abolishing visas.

“Calling a parliamentary debate to talk about non-liberalisation of visas, we are forgetting to mention a fact: Never has Kosovo been closer to lifting visas than we are today. Never worked harder. Never before have so many positive results been noted for years that they have been marked throughout this government for a year and a few months. We don't want to deceive the people, we never gave months and dates, because we think they've been cheating for years. But we are working hard, executive and legislative, that this process will once and for all take on epilogue. Here I call on them to join the opposition position, because we will benefit equally, such as the opposition”, she has declared.

It has also added that no European Union state is against free movement for Kosovo citizens, which it said France's reflection is also visible.

On behalf of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Elmi Recica said the European integration agenda is not only visa liberalisation.

On behalf of the Parliamentary Group, I once again declare that we are ready and in support of the processes in terms of European agenda and visa liberalisation. It would take the same to be done by the Government of Kosovo, namely by the deputy prime minister responsible for the European agenda, which would have to consider the opposition part as well. Because we know and it is evidence that without mutual co-ordination it is impossible to move this very important process”, he added.

MP Pal Lekaj said the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo's proposal is the only alternative to the construction of the national platform.

“It is the opportunity to build a national platform in the most important developments for our country, is political, economic and social imperative. It is the opportunity to protect the dignity of our country and the citizen we represent. It's the only alternative to build strategies that each of us has to stick to until its full implementation. Just as we did with the visa guide others offered us for us”, he stated.

Kosovo citizens are the only ones in the region who cannot freely move to European Union countries.
