In Brussels, the first round of trilateral meeting between Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has ended, and Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, with the European Union's mediation.

As Radio Free Europe teaches, there will be bilateral meetings between Kosovo leaders and Serbia with EU mediators in order for leaders to meet again during the day.

The EU building where dialogue is under way has also reached the United States' envoy for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar.

We remember that the American side does not participate in dialogue, but the US fully supports EU efforts in the process of normalising relations between Serbia and Kosovo.

Borrell expects flexibility from Kosovo, Serbia
Meanwhile, European Union High Representative Josep Borrell, earlier in August 18th, said it is time for Kosovo and Serbia to move towards full normalisation of relations as the parties meet in Brussels in the new round of dialogue.

The latest “Tensions in northern Kosovo have again proved that it is time to move towards full normalisation. I expect both leaders to be flexible and find common language”, Borrell wrote on Twitter.

His reaction came after he held separate meetings with Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, and with Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, who followed the trilateral meeting.

The August 18th meeting marks the third time Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq negotiate in Brussels, within the dialogue mediating the European Union.

Meanwhile, Serbian President Vuciq said there is hope that any solution will be reached, but added that it is “ceptic”.
