And Thermokos with bad news: Winters to Have Warming Reductions

The capital could face even more heating shortages than electricity during the winter. Because heat in Pristina depends on electricity, electricity reductions could also bring reductions in heating hours. Aferdita Uka, spokeswoman for the heater “Termokos”, has said this heater is completely dependent on KEK.
That on the “60 Minutes” show, KTV explained that heating equipment in the shelters works with electricity, meaning that in turn, they will stop working too.
We depend entirely on KEK's ability to supply us with steam. Since 2014, we have supplied sufficient heating to consumers without any passing days, with some rare exception of”.
The “consumers should know that since we are dependent on KEK, we will also be dependent on the reductions they will have on the timetable and power supply for our consumers. In cases where the Kosovo B thermal power plant will offer us the steam we take from them to fuel consumers, it won't be enough in those residential facilities where there will be power reductions, as all the equipment in heating stations in the shelters work with electric energy”, Uka said.
Uka, however, voiced optimism that the few-hour reductions will not be a major problem for citizens who are heated by “Termokos”.
We hope that we will have a slightly easier winter than it is predicting because if we supply heat for 24 hours without interruption and those 2-3 hours reductions, even if an internal residential environment is heated enough, we believe that the thermal energy that is accumulated inside the resident's objects will be sufficient to withstand the cold until the return of the power supply”.
Uka indicated that the heater is working on expanding heating in Pristina and that over 140 new items have been locked up this year.
“We are in the process of realising the heating expansion project. The heating network is located at Matti 1 to 141 new objects in this neighborhood. The plan has been to lock 100 objects, but there's been a lot of new objects and we've been forced to interrupt the implementation of the project and review it”.
And more than 80 old objects will be added this year to the heating system.
“In the existing neighborhoods where the heating network is extended, such as the Qandra neighbourhood, Ulpiana, Dardania and Sun Coast, we have 86 old residential objects that will be locked in the heating network, never been locked up”, Uka stressed.
Uka has said that about 18m euros are estimated for the debt of about 16 thousand consumers, which is from post-war until now.
