No quorum for voting of COST annual report

During the review of this majority parliamentary report, the company's good performance in terms of technical functioning has been calculated, but also the balance of the system. But the same have not been declared by the Democratic Party of Kosovo, who have said they will participate in the vote.

During the voting of this report, 64 MPs have attended the hall, but only 50 of them have voted.

MP Life Statovci from the Commission for Economy said this report has received the approval of members of this parliamentary commission.

The report presented by the company and received the support of participating deputies, so recommended for the adoption session of this report”, she said.

Even the chairman of the Board Commission, Armend Muja, said this report fulfils the duties and obligations issued by the Public Finance Management Law.

All data and discussions concerning the company's spending and revenues have been addressed, and the commission has decided to recommend this report for approval. A request that has been made to audit the company's capital investments is in expectation of the National Audition Office, but it links with the early 2011-2020 years, and I believe that in the second part, it will be treated where we've raised some concerns. But, in the absence of information we haven't had anything concrete”, he stressed.

On behalf of LVV, MP Driton Hyseni said this report is positive.

The 2021 report reveals the good performance of the Koo Company STT, both in terms of technical functioning and in its ferry, which is the balance of the system. But it is noteworthy that COSTT's performance in 2021 was challenged by the energy crisis and obligations generated by electricity losses in northern Kosovo. Since the operating license issued by Z HR, COSTT since 2017 such losses must cover”, Hyseni said.

On behalf of the PDK, Mergim Lushtaku said there has been mismanagement in relation to the energy crisis. Meanwhile, he added that there has been increased export for more than 300 percent. For that, he said they would not participate in the vote on this report.

“On behalf of the PDK Parliamentary Group, we have reviewed COST's annual report and we have concerns with this report. With the management of this institution, but also with the support of what the Government of Kosovo has done to manage economic crisis and energy in general... if we look at the figures in the financial report, we conclude that a better management of the energy situation would affect the global energy crisis to less consequences. Local production was higher than the 22.15 percent plan, notes the chart, has reduced import 16.49 percent and export growth compared to planned 395.14 percent. Net consumption was higher than plan 7.11 percent”, he said.
