Miftarian: Gravaging wages is serious violation of workers' rights

Ehat Miftaraj from the Kosovo Institute for Justice has reacted after a government document planning to halt the strikers' salaries was released. He said suspending salaries on the part of the state to the strikers is “heavy suspension of workers' rights”. “

“The state-based wage success of workers entering legal strike is a serious violation of workers' rights, unprecedented in a democratic state, or by a political party that promoted social state”, he wrote.
According to Miftaw, this is unacceptable and “does not pass”.

Article 18 points 1 of the Law on Strikes means that the worker's obligations to fulfill the commitments that come out of the employment contract are suspended.
Article 18 of the Law for the Strikes, in no circumstances does mean that state obligations, or employees in the private sector suspend the workers' rights to pay and other benefits stemming from the employment contract, during the time of the legal strike.
The state's suspension of wages to workers who enter legal strike is a serious violation of workers' rights, unprecedented in a democratic state, or a political party that has promoted social state.
Unacceptable. This doesn't go through. Immediate measures towards anyone that has initiated such initiative.
