Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti in an interview for Al Jazeera medium, has declared that no one can stop the Kosovo Special Police from heading north.

Kurti has stressed, the northern part of Mitrovica, is part of Kosovo and that according to him, there has never been more rule of law than during its rule.

On the other hand, Kurti, has stressed that preventing free movement is never a solution.

I've met with General [Frecence] Kayari [KFOR commander], as well as our police and EULEX. Barricades are not solutions. There's a state mechanism that's going to react, it's not just the police, it's also the special police force, and nobody can stop the special police from coming north. Kosovo's north is part of Kosovo, is located in Kosovo and there has never been more rule of law in northern Kosovo than now”, Kosovo Prime Minister RTV Dukajni has declared.

On Wednesday 24 August, the prime minister's office has announced that Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, along with Minister of Internal Affairs Xhelal Svecla, have hosted NATO peacekeeping forces commander in Kosovo (KFOR) Major General Ferenc Kayari at the meeting.

The commitment and co-ordination between the government, the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo and the NATO peacekeeping forces in Kosovo (KFOR) have been stressed for ensuring security and free movement.
