Through a communique for the media, the government said Prime Minister Kurti announced to Secretary General Stoltenberg that Kosovo citizens have been well informed of the upcoming measures, and that the measures are fully in line with Kosovo's laws and Constitution, as well as that their implementation has been co-ordinated with the international community.
“Under the new measure of border crossing at the Kosovo border crossings on August 1st, by 1600, 2521 citizens had passed through 2521 citizens with identification documents from Serbia. This new procedure has averaged only 20 seconds, since everything has been digitised by Kosovo institutions. The same procedure in Serbian crossings lasts from 10 minutes to over one hour”, was said away in the communique.
“Prime Minister Kurti briefed Secretary General Stoltenberg that the media controlled by the Government of Serbia have implemented a deinformation campaign over the past month, trying to build a false and negative framework for these incoming measures. It has already been confirmed that these deinformative campaigns are being assisted by the Russian state in trying to destabilise the Balkans”, the government said in the statement.
According to the government, Stoltenberg assured Prime Minister Kurti of NATO and KFOR's commitment to maintaining peace and stability in Kosovo and the region.
