German Ambassador: Kosovo's decisions on reciprocity with Serbia are legitimate

Germany's ambassador to Kosovo, Jörn Rohde, after today's meeting with Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani, has said he supports the Government's decisions on Kosovo's license plates and entry documents and delaying their implementation for September 1st in co-ordination with the US and EU. Rohde has said that the Kosovo government's decisions are legitimate and fully in line with Brussels' agreements.
I had the satisfaction of meeting today President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, where we discussed current developments and of delaying implementation of the decisions for license plates and entry documents for September 1st in co-ordination with the US and the EU. I stressed that the decisions are legitimate and fully in line with the Brussels agreements”, the German ambassador wrote.
While President Osmani has said that at the meeting the German ambassador has talked about the overall situation in the country and the region.
As the presidency reports, Osmani has stressed that in relation to recent developments in northern Kosovo, Kosovo institutions are committed to continuing full co-ordination with international partners, as they have been co-ordinated so far.
Also, President Osmani has suggested that it is important to send clear messages to Serbia from the international community that its promotional rhetoric and violent actions will not be tolerated through illegal structures in northern Kosovo.
