EU External Affairs and Security spokeswoman Nabila Masrali has reacted after the recent statements of Kosovo and Serbia leaders for a new armed conflict.

Massrali considers these statements to be disturbing, demanding that such actions be stopped immediately.

“The rise of recent promotional rhetoric between Kosovo and Serbia officials, in particular, statements of war and conflict in the Western Balkans are disturbing. Both sides should immediately end bilateral hostilities”, Massrali wrote on Twitter.

Serbia's president, Akexander Vuciq, said there is information on plans that “the duplication of our people” is being prepared in northern Kosovo, referring to the Serb population living in Kosovo.

A day after that statement, Prime Minister Albin Kurti said when officials in Belgrade, including Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq, speak of violence and murder in Kosovo, they speak for themselves, “speaks of their imaginations and thoughts”.

“We should not rule out that these aggressive Belgrade policies could even turn into an attack against Kosovo in one way or another”, Kurti told Reuters, speaking in English. “We are vigilant, but not afraid”, Kurt said.

In this regard on August 17th, Secretary General NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, will hold separate meetings in Brussels with Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq.

The meeting of two leaders under the European Union's mediation will take place on 18 August.

This meeting was called after increasing tensions in northern Kosovo, in terms of the Kosovo Government's two decisions on Serb license plates and documents.

The real estate of information about war and conflict in the Western Balkans are of great concern.
