People do not leave the country because they do not want to live in a multiethnic state, but because of corruption, the US government representative said, stressing that many ruling parties in the region participate in this.
Escobar said most disputes in the region in recent years deal with the treatment and status of minorities, whether Croats in Bosnia or Serbs in northern Kosovo.
“We must create a new pact that will make minorities feel represented, appreciated and integrated”, he said, Croatian public medium HRT reported.
Taking the last agreement between Kosovo and Serbia, Escobar said successes come only through EU and US unity.
Escobar has found that, as in the case of recent progress in negotiations between Kosovo and Serbia, all successes from Dayton to last Saturday come through EU and US unity.
