Albania's Defence Minister Niko Peleshi, present at the escort ceremony, praised this as a special moment for the fact that these effective ones begin on the mission as representatives of the country in NATO Alliance's efforts to serve security and peace.

The next Republic of Albania has proved that it is not only a factor of regional and wider peace and stability, but also a serious ally who takes over and carries the burden of obligations and is within the Alliance's collective defence”, Pelesh said during his speech.

The defence minister stressed Albania's invaluable support of Kosovo's aspirations, but also praised the increased presence of forces of the Alliance's countries as part of KFOR.

Kosovo's “reliance on its aspirations towards membership in international organisations, contributing to strengthening peace and security, encourages the region's development and deters the expansion of influence of other countries that challenge democracy in Western Balkan countries. Our security challenges remain common, inseparable and comprehensive. They come from every direction, and they can affect security and stability in our region and beyond. The defence ministry praises the delocation and increased presence of the armed forces of allied countries and partners in the KFOR Mission. It is a major contribution of the Alliance to the stability of the Western Balkans. As the Secretary General underlined NATO, a few days ago, KFOR troops in Kosovo are ready and determined to pursue their task in fulfilling the mission to preserve a safe environment in Kosovo and in the region”, Pelesi said.

The 30 troops of the 2nd contingent from the Earth Force, effective of the Comando Battalion, from the Special Operations Regiment (ROS) will serve in the Pec area, side by side with their Italian and Croatian colleagues.

Army Chief of General Staff, Brigadier General Arben Kiggi, Zv. Commander of the Earth Force, officers/ent officers and family of the effective.
