On August 10th 2022, the government of Kosovo has made a decision to allocate 40m euros to Kosovo's System, Transmission and Electricity Market operator. [ Footnote] KOSST]. These vehicles will pay for the country's northern municipalities, even though they tried to tackle it.
Artane Rizvanolli, economy minister, explained the reasons for dividing 40 million for COST. But she never stated that this money is destined to pay off the current Serbs spend in the country's north.
COSTT's “It's at the end of the deal and it needs to be renewed. Over the course of the year, we have caused major disbalancing from the interactive system. As the economy minister, we have applied to the Ministry of Finance, where the allocation of 40m euros for repayment of obligations was proposed, and they are divided”, Rizvanolli said in the question of journalists whether the money was divided for the north.
On the other side, The KOSST in a response to Nacional has confirmed that the money is earmarked to pay the current for municipalities in the country's north.

COMM The SST has underlined that this money for the energy used but without the Serbs paying it is the financial obligation that has to be paid to ENSTO-E since the Electronic System of Continental Europe has become a deviation.
“COMM STT as a contracting party with NTSO-E has requested support from the Kosovo Government for covering financial obligations under obligations stemming from the COSTT Agreement. ENTSO-E. As it is known, in the absence of a budget for covering the losses of the north from energy exploited but not paid in the northern part of Kosovo, electricity is drawn into the form of deviations from the continental European Electronic System for covering this consumption. These deviations are contrary to the COST Key Agreement. ENTSO-E and submit financial obligations for COSTT as an independent regulatory zone, to NTSO-E, the commitment to which it is met. ”, said KOSST to Nacional.
This payment comes a few days after Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti had said the government would no longer make the subsidies of electricity to Serbs in the north.
