He made these comments on August 25th, in a letter he sent to the US House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi.
On paper, Biden has said he has ordered attacks “due to the responsibility of protecting US citizens at home and abroad”.
Local military officials have said the US Army has fired several targets on August 25th in the Syrian city of Mayadin, located in the province's Deir al-Zor.
Iranian militia have a huge presence there and have often carried out attacks near an oil zone in al-Omar, where the American coalition is based.
In the last 24 hours, the US Army has said four militants have been killed and seven rocket launchers have been destroyed.
The Pentagon has said three members of the US Army have suffered minor injuries as a result of the August 24th clashes.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry has denied that Tehran is linked to targeted groups.
The US “Sulmi in Syrian infrastructure and people there constitute violations of Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity”, the spokesman, Nasser Canaan, said through a post in the ministry's channel at Telegram.
These targeted groups have no connection with the Islamic Republic”, he said, among other things.
Deir al-Zor is the oil-rich province on the border with Iraq and is controlled by militia backed by Iran and Syrian forces.
These groups are targeted in the past by Israeli warplanes.
