yesterday's interview with foreign media by Prime Minister Albin Kurti, who highlighted the risk of war in Kosovo as a result of Russia's major influence on Serbia, has sparked numerous reactions.
Vetevendosje MP Mefail Bajqinovci has said that Prime Minister Kurti in this interview has only shown there is a potential danger.
The prime minister has not provoked fear, but has aroused awareness. This is argued for years, given that the Balkans are under the Russian hemisphere, especially Serbia and several surrounding states. No doubt it is said there is no danger from Serbia that is irresponsible. There is always danger from Serbia. We are also seeing the major arming in the Balkans happening. We also often have statements from Croatian leaders. They're in NATO and they always say it doesn't protect us alone NATO, but we have to arm ourselves and stand in front of an enemy, as do the Croats, which is Serbia”, Bajqinovci stressed in “RTK Prime”.
He has said that Kosovo has already begun to arm itself, given the overall situation.
We've raised the budget for the military for 52 percent, even though it's not abundant. Even if it were the 5 billion-euro budget or 10 billion Prime Minister Kurti would spend it particularly on buying military equipment, given that the security situation is not like a year ago. I don't want to take parallels, but we have to remember that the war in Ukraine has changed the security math”, Bajqinovci added. He has said that 60 per cent of Serbia's military arsenal is around the border with Kosovo.
