The shooting occurred around 1am near the Methodist North Hospital in Raligh, a community of 31,000 people in northwest Memphi. Police officers said the author's vehicle was believed to be stolen.
Three of the injured and a teenager are in critical condition for life. Police have provided no information to suspects or any possible motive.
