Ukraine will also destroy the Kerci Bridge, in the event it needs to prevent Russian progress, National Security Council Secretary Olexey Danilov said on Thursday.
He said this decision would be made in case of need, adding that currently “everything is under control”.
If necessary, this decision (for the crash of the bridge) will be taken by the army. As for the Crime Bridge or other infrastructure, believe me, everything is under close control. Once necessary, the possibility of duty will all be done and not only in connection with this” object, gencoy Danilov.
He added that Ukraine's military success would depend on how fast Ukrainian troops will be supplied with modern weapons.
Ukraine has already begun destroying bridges, with the aim of halting Russian momentum. Recently, the city bridge Antonovskiy over the Dnieper River, connecting Ukraine and Crime, was destroyed by Ukrainian forces.
The Kerchi Bridge, also known as the Crime Bridge, was completed in 2018 by the Russians after Russia annexed Crimea. Geographically, the bridge links Crime and Russia, with a length of 19 kilometers, which makes it the longest in Europe.
